Funding from CABWI supports New-U’s core aim, to offer a service where young people/adults aged 18+ who are furthest from the labour market can develop their employability skills and confidence and feel more prepared to enter employment.
The project is delivered through:
- individual 4-6 week work placements for those who desperately need hands-on experience to improve their soft skills and achieve their employability potential;
- dedicated 1-2-1 mentoring following a placement from one of our trained Volunteer Mentors to support people with their employability goals and next steps;
- we provide free smart clothing for people facing financial barriers for job interviews;
- offer our beneficiaries opportunities to stay connected with New-U and continue to enhance their employability skills by attending our programme of events and activities, such as our monthly £1 clothing sales and regular upcycling workshops.
